Blue Eyed British (BEB) is a boutique, physician-owned British Shorthair cattery in the U.S. specializing in healthy, affectionate, and socialized kittens. Located in Charlottesville, Virginia, BEB is a TICA-registered cattery committed to ethical breeding practices and the highest standards of feline health and care.

Who runs Blue Eyed British Cattery?

Our cattery is owned and operated by Brandy Segura, MD, a physician and passionate animal lover. Her medical background ensures that every kitten receives exceptional veterinary care, top-tier nutrition, and a safe, clean, and enriching home environment. Our British Shorthairs live among our family and enjoy a stimulating and clean environment, with an abundance of cat trees, access to a safe outdoor catio, and automatic litter boxes. 

What is your breeding philosophy?

We blend nature and nurture to raise kittens that are:

Our mission is to preserve the classic British Shorthair look and temperament—round faces, plush coats, and calm, curious personalities—while prioritizing health, genetics, and socialization.

How are our British Shorthair kittens raised?

All of our kittens are raised indoors alongside adults and children, ensuring they’re well-socialized and comfortable around people. They are regularly exposed to everyday household sounds like the vacuum, television, and laundry machines, helping them grow accustomed to common noises. As they mature, they also go on short car rides to help them adapt to travel. Each kitten is fully litter box trained and becomes comfortable with brushing, bathing, and nail trimming. Our goal is to send home well-adjusted, confident kittens who settle quickly and happily into their new families.

What does a British Shorthair kitten come with?

All Age-appropriate vaccinations

• Microchip 

• Precautionary flea and deworming

• 1-year genetic health guarantee

• Trupanion pet insurance for their first month home

• TICA registration slip

• Copy of parents' pedigree (upon request)

• Copy of parents' genetic testing (upon request)

• Copy of parents' HCM screening (upon request)

• Special kitten blanket with Mother and siblings scent

• Thank you gift with kitten food/treats they are accustomed to and toys they love

All cats are also tested with Optimal Selection, which tests for over 45+ genetic health tests, including Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKDef), Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), MDR1 Medication Sensitivity, and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) variants, plus complete blood type, along with 25+ traits and genetic diversity. Every breeding cat is also tested Negative for FIV/FeLV and are annually screened for HCM by a certified cardiologist ensuring that your kitten will be as healthy as possible.

How much is a British Shorthair kitten?

Kitten pricing ranges from $2500-$3500, depending on coat color, coat pattern (ticked or not), and eye color. Kittens with dominant blue eyes or dominant odd eyes will cost $3500. Our kitten pricing reflects the amount of time, care, and money that is invested by us to ensure the health and quality of our British Shorthair kittens.

 If you decide to buy two as siblings we offer a sibling discount of $500. We require a $500 deposit to join our waitlist and reserve your kitten. The deposit is non-refundable but may be moved to a future litter if necessary.  We do not sell kittens with breeding rights at this time.

Do you offer shipping or delivery for British Shorthair kittens?

Blue Eyed British Cattery is located in Charlottesville, Virginia, a charming town in Central Virginia. We offer complimentary local pickup directly from our cattery for those nearby. When my schedule permits, I may also offer personal ground delivery. For out-of-state buyers, we provide nationwide delivery options. Your kitten can fly in-cabin to your nearest major airport, for an additional fee.
